My back yard in Ballard is mostly edible: vegetables, herbs, raspberries, strawberries, apples, peaches, figs and kiwis.

This is a turban squash grown by Linnea in the summer of 1999. It is delicious, keeps for months, and most of all, looks really cool.

Rudbeckia fulgida var. Goldsturm is one of my very favorite perennials. It blooms for up to three months, starting in mid-July.
